Mission: Understanding the Inter-hemispheric exchange of air with El Nino
El Nino presents a dramatic shift in the dynamics of the atmosphere.
Several experiments would be needed to quantify the exchange of air between
the hemispheres both in non-El Nino years and the actual El Nino year.
Measurements of meteorological parameters and the tracers of atmospheric
motion: ozone, N2O, CO2, water would be necessary. Long flight tracks
obtaining data in both hemispheres would be required.
