  HAIS Developer's Workshop

Tuesday, October 12, 2004
Boulder, Colorado

The NCAR HIAPER Project Office (HPO) and Earth Observing Laboratory (EOL) jointly hosted a workshop for the HAIS development teams at NCAR. During this one day event, HPO and EOL staff members presented a number of the PIs and co-PIs with information on the capabilities of the GV and the various infrastructure systems (e.g., research power, data acquisition, SATCOM, etc.). Additionally, instrumentation design and approval procedures were discussed, and all workshop attendees participated in group discussions of long-term instrumentation support needs and considerations.

  HIAPER "Town Hall" Meeting

Thursday, March 4, 2004
NCAR Foothills Lab 2 (FL2) Auditorium, Room 1022
Time: 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

During this second tri-annual town hall session, representatives of the NCAR HIAPER Project Office (HPO) presented an overview of the current status of the NSF/NCAR GV development effort. Additionally, the leaders of the HIAPER data acquisition system and data display efforts gave summaries of the work currently underway to design and build these two essential infrastructure systems for the new platform. Members of the engineering and design support team for the GV were in attendance to answer general questions about the design and configuration of the aircraft and gave presentations on design plans for optical view port window mount and equipment rack designs.

All interested NCAR and UCAR staff members and members of the local (Boulder) scientific community were invited to attend.

For additional information about the town hall meeting or the HIAPER project in general, please contact the HPO at 303-497-2005 or hiaperinfo@ucar.edu

  HIAPER "Town Hall" Meeting
